In June of 2022, we held our first in person Pride event with over 100 queer, trans, femme, Black, Asian, brown & indigenous artists and vendors from around the Sacramento area. The event featured free haircuts from a barber, vintage clothes, jewelry, crystals, tooth gems, art, live painting, vegan food, mini donuts, handmade pizza, sweets & drinks, mocktails, and more.
See photos soon here.
Thank you Stardust Vintage Emporium for sponsoring our first pride event and hoping it won't be the last!
Fat Queer Liberation in Sac
In 2022, we started a community page to celebrate Fat, Queer bodies.
After realization of the lack of fat queer spaces in Sacramento (or anywhere for that matter), we took it upon ourselves to create a small commmunity page on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter: Fat Sac Queers
Fat Sac Queers is a page to post and celebrate fat queer bodies, see and share fat queer art, gain insight on events geared toward and that are safe for us, as well as just general community/relationship building.
Not in Sacramento? That's okay! Give @FatSacQueers a follow on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to share some of the fat, gay love.
Supporting Black Folx, Mutual Aid & The Anti-Police Terror Project Sacramento
Banes.co was founded on a not-for-profit "Black Lives Matter" sticker that our Creative Director & Founder created in June 2020.
Black Lives Matter. Banes.co stands with Black lives and strives daily to be anti-racist. We stand against casual racism, microaggressions, and constantly are working to use our privileges in a way to support and amplify Black voices.
In 2020, we donated over $500 from anti-police terror inspired designs to mutual aid funds & GoFundMe's to Black people (youth, mothers, men, women, queers & trans people included and alike), as well as victims of police terror in June 2020 riots in Sacramento, CA, Portland, OR & Minneapolis, MI.
In 2021, we have donated just shy of $300 to mutual aid funds and specifically the Anti Police Terror Project. We currently offer heavily discounted services to Black small business owners. Reach out or refer us to your friends and family for quality design, small business consultation & social media account management support.
In October 2021, we put on our second Bingo! event and fundraised for Love Liberated Sacramento, a queer & Black led QTBIPOC sexual liberation collective and were able to donate $200 to the organization.
Supporting (and celebrating) The Fellow Queer Community
This year, we rounded off Pride month with our first event -- Queer Bingo: An Online Pride Benefit in support of multiple organizations with the help of amazing sponsors like Portland Toy Co., Double Scorpio, Just Do It Babes, Kush Queen, Queer Collections, and a few more really amazing artists.
In June 2021, we were able to donate over $200 between:
-For The Gworls: a New York based, Black, trans-led collective that curates parties to fundraise money to help Black transgender people pay for their rent, gender-affirming surgeries, smaller co-pays, travel assistance, and more.
-Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMRYC): a resource center in Portland that provides safe access to the queer community for youth with goals of increasing academic success and access to jobs, reducing poverty and school drop-outs.
-Planned Parenthood Mar Monte: the Northern California sector of Planned Parenthood that would be responsible for most of America's abortion procedures if it were ever to become banned at a federal level. Abortion aside, Planned Parenthood provides safe, inclusive access to healthcare for the LGBTQ+ community for both gender-affirming (hormone therapy, if applicable) and general healthcare.
Reproductive Rights: Rallying for Planned Parenthood & Buckle Bunnies Fund Texas
As of early September 2021, abortion is no longer accessible for most Texans because of S.B. 8, a new law that just went into effect. We’re doing everything we can to change this.
As of June 2022, the Roe v. Wade law is being overturned and abortion will soon no longer be accessible in some states.
In 2021, abortion after six weeks was banned for Texans. Right now, abortion is virtually inaccessible for patients in Texas. New law S.B. 8 will not only cause severe harm throughout Texas but it will also encourage similar laws across the country. As of June 2022, the Roe v. Wade law is being overturned and abortion will soon no longer be accessible in some states in America.
We've connected with the volunteers at Planned Parenthood Mar-Monte and will be donating half of all profits from the Reproductive Rights line to them. There were a few orders in this line that may not have reached it's location! PLEASE REACH OUT IF THIS MAY BE YOU. We are also splitting donations with Buckle Bunnies Fund in Texas, a queer led organization that fundraises and pays for Texans to get out of Texas to receive an abortion. In October 2021, we put on our second Bingo! event and fundraised for them as well as Love Liberated. We were able to donate $463 split between the organizations for reproductive rights.

Mental Health Awareness
Recover-Me 2021
Our first not-for-profit client, Recover-Me. opened our eyes up to working in mental health.
In August of this year, we took on a temporary project directing the social media and curating content for Recover-Me, an international annual fundraiser that uses original visual and performing arts pieces to promote an educated understanding of mental illness. We helped them create content and find artists that were willing to share their journeys with mental health, and found that the more we were immersed in the community, the more it helped... whether that was reaching out to therapists, mental health advocates, or just really active Instagram users, mental health affects everyone.
Due to the overwhelming amount of submissions they received in under a month (along with nearly doubling their online following), we expidited our contract and submissions are now being reviewed for production. Check out Recover-Me on Instagram for updates regarding when the production will take place Fall 2021, where to find it, and how to submit any visual or performance art on your experience with mental illness for next year.

Fighting Fatphobia in Fashion
We always carry at least some plus sizes in person, but almost all of our shirts go up to a 5X. We're working on going as high as possible though! We will also make custom shirts, with any design, in any size, for you.
In 2021, we sponsored our first event, the Chunky Dunk, a radical self-acceptance pool party event hosted by Fat Positive Sacramento- a group of folks in Sacramento who want a safe space for fat bodies, queer and trans bodies, Black and brown bodies, disabled bodies, young and old bodies, stretch marked and scarred bodies, and the rest of them. We organized the raffle for this year's event with special sponsors like from fat-babe owned brands like Super Fit Hero, and Sacramento local service providers such as Dolly's Beauty Co., Han And Hair, and Regal Picnics.
If you need themed event related raffle/auction prizes collected or a Donation Coordinator, reach out! We're experienced in brand outreach and would love to help your brand or not-for-profit succeed at your next event.
